(CNN) As part of their investigation into a multistate epidemic of E. coli related to cake mix, US health authorities advise consumers not to consume uncooked cake batter. 16 Individuals Sickened By E. Coli After Eating Uncooked Cake Batter
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, they vary in age from 2 to 73 years old, with 75 percent of them being youngsters under the age of 18. The chefs advised that if you cook the way your mother (actually) cooked, you can help combat climate change. The research that Centres did for Disease Control and Prevention indicates that all sick individuals are women. The agency’s investigative notice showed that several diseases began between February 26, 2021, and June 21, 2021, which was posted on its website.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), six out of eight individuals who state and local health authorities had questioned admitted to eating or tasting cake batter prepared from a cake mix at the time of the previous report. In addition, the notification states that people have reported purchasing various types and brands of cake mix.
CDC further noted that the Food and Drug Administration is reviewing purchase data from areas where ill individuals purchased cake mix in an attempt to identify a common brand or manufacturing site. After performing DNA fingerprinting on the germs identified in the sick people’s samples, the investigators discovered that they were genetically linked to one another.
CDC confirmed that individuals who were ill during this epidemic were most likely exposed to the same food. Based on the warning, the number of individuals who have been affected is likely to be considerably higher since many people recover without medical care and are never tested for E. coli. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, it takes three to four weeks to establish whether a sick individual is a member of an epidemic.
E. coli is a bacteria that may cause diarrhea, severe stomach cramps, vomiting, and other symptoms. It is transmitted by eating food or water that has been contaminated by human or animal waste or by coming into touch with humans or animals that have been infected with E. coli.
CDC advises individuals to avoid eating raw cake batter and other doughs, whether they came from a mix or were made from scratch. The main reason for this is that flour and other ingredients have dangerous bacteria that can only be killed during baking
