In recent research, the scientist had found that a new configuration has discovered on ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis), as this usually affects the children which were found by the researchers of an international team!
New Findings Had Discovered A Rare Form Of ALS Can Attack Children
To identify this type of disease that can strike the children, some new advanced techniques were used on a genetic basis, 11 different cases were identified in the kids with ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis) disease with an addition of other peculiar neurological disorders.
ALS disease usually inherits from the parents, if one parent is carrying the ALS disease gene during the mutation its attacks the child. This is very impactful for kids in their body physical functioning.
The main symptom can be detected with muscle weakness. As ALS is a fatal disease now there is no cure found for this ALS disease. ALS affected people generally causes death with respiratory failure.
ALS is also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease. Mostly this disease gets diagnosed in age between 50 and 60. Slowly it gets progressed into the patients quickly and leads to death within 4 to 5 days. There are three types of ALS’s they are; sporadic ALS (sporadic amyotrophic lateral sclerosis), Familial ALS (familial amyotrophic lateral sclerosis), Guamanian ALS (Guamanian amyotrophic lateral sclerosis).
According to the study of some authors, ALS is affected from the day a child born as it is identified newly, it is a slow process to affect the body which begins in your childhood. This disease is linked to the gene SPTLC1. This gene is a part of our production system which functions on body fat. When the SPTLC1 gene gets inactive ALS will be attacked genetically.
Dr Carsten Bonnemann, senior professor at the national institute of neurological stroke and disorders said that ALS patients get paralyzed because it is a fatal disease, it affects mid-age people.
Also, a new study found that children can also be attacked by this disease with a variant genetic form in a recent genetic study. Results were reported as ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis) can also be caused by the changes in the body with metabolized lipids.
In a recent institute news release, Bonnemann passed a statement that “we’re been trying on new strategies and ways for the effective treatments with the approved clinical trials for treatments, the main symptom of silencing gene is observed and we are trying to explore the other ways of steps to treat the patients in the very early stage” this process slows down the SPT activity where the inactive gene gets activated.
According to a national survey conducted by the national institute of the neurological department, ALS symptoms were found in 11 children at the age of 4. When this study on them is prolonged those 11 children lived 20 years longer than expected.
The senior author Dr Payam Mohassel said that “there may be a cure but many more findings should be done on ALS disease, as these 11 young patients had many ups and downs on their neuron problems”, the study is not able to complete where an underlying confusion is left out with these early age attacks and slower development of symptoms.
